It's been quiet...

I'm sorry about the lack of updates lately. The June 9 radio broadcast went well, I just wish I had an archive of it to hear myself. Our new song, Tomorrow, seems to be getting great reception whereever we play it, which is nice. Not much has been done since that show, but DBT is hard at work writing and we hope to start recording our next release this month.

I've been struck hard by a lack of motivation lately, as my summer has not been a very good one and personal issues have been slowing me down. However, aside from DBT, here are some things I hope to accomplish in the next few months.

1. I've been getting pestered by afriend to mine to start work on my own solo project. For me, writing alone is not easy, but I suppose it would allow me an avenue to vent out things and express myself outside the confines of a band. So, that is on the table and I hope I can pull myself together enough to give it some time.

2. A solo project, where I assemble arrangements in the studio of songs and go out and play live to the backing tracks. This would allow me to earn alittle cash and also to be able to play out live and sing, something I don't get to do much. I'd be free form the constraints of a cover band where you have to deal with the other musician's skill level, equipment shortcomings, and the whole I don't want to really do that song, thing. But the downside is that I'd have to learn all the parts of the songs I want to do and arrange it in studio. Lots of control, but lots of responsibility.

So, in addition to DBT, I am hoping to maybe get motivated enough to try these other things. Time will tell, though.

The central park gig for DBT was canceled, which is abummer, but it does free us up to continue writing without having to rehearse for a show. So, there is asilver lining somewhere, however, I was looking forward to playing on that stage.

That's it for now. I keep swearing I am going to update this site more. I am paying for it after all. As I start putting together some covers for the covers project, I'll upload them here, as I need to assemble a demo to bring to clubs anyway. Stay tuned.

Days Before Tomorrow show on June 9, 2010 broadcast live on the internet and other news

That's right, everybody. Days Before tomorrow will be broadcast live on Pennsylvania radio, 102.3 the mountain, starting at 10:00 PM. We're playing at the Woodlands in Wilksburre or however you spell it. And the show is being broadcast as part of the mountain grown spotlight. So, click on the link below to listen live Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at around 10:00 PM Eastern.

Click here to listen on June 9, 2010 at 10:00 PM to Days Before Tomorrow.

Special huge thanks to Liam Erven for finding me the link.

IN other news...

DBT played Starland ballroom opening up for the Outlaws. It was an interesting show. Again, we played the new song, Tomorrow, to great reception. Who knew Southern rock fans would like us? Anyway, if you search on youtube, there is video highlights from that show. IN fact, here is the link.

Click here to see Days Before Tomorrow highlights from the Starland Ballroom.

IN other news...

DBT is playing in Central Park, NY on September 4. It's a 4 hour festival of sorts and we're smack in the middle of the show at 2:00 PM. Hopefully there will be a huge crowd there as well.

Last but certainly not least, in addition to my endorsement by Kurzweil, I am now also a Clavia performing artist. Clavia makes the Nord brand of keyboards. These keyboards are awesome as they don't really have significant displays and everything is on a knob or button which is awesome for us blind people. Anyway, you can check out Clavia's stuff at Clavia's web site. And of course, Kurzweil can be found at Kurzweil's web site.

OK, so that's all the news so far. Hope to hear some feedback on the show tomorrow night.

Post ROS-Fest

The last few weeks have been fun, musically at least. I was interviewed on Class X Radio during their fund raiser to raise money for the station. A few days later, Scott and Eric from Days Before Tomorrow were interviewed as well. As of last week, LIghters, a DBT song is ranked number 5 on Class X radio's listings so go there and request it. You can also request sleepwalking as well, so let's get on that and push more dBT onto the world.

We played Concert for a Cause 8 and ROS-fest, or at least the after show party for night 1. I have video and hope I can eventually put something up to see for you all, especially since we went down really well. I even got to sign some CDs. That was a treat. The new DBT song went over so well and that really made me feel good especially as it was the first DBT material that I contributed to for writing and so I felt like the direction we were taking is validated and that is extremely appreciated and encouraging.

Now, onto the remainin gstuff. May 21, at the sTarland ballroom, opening up for the Outlaws. Again, tickets can be purchased at the days before Tomorrow web site. Details about shows still to come are below.

With a small window of downtime, I am hoping to start doing more recording again. I suppose time will tell. Stay tuned to this site for things as they happen.

All kinds of Days before Tomorrow stuff

Sorry it's been a bit quiet, here. Here's the latest news post Visions.

This Thursday, we play Concert for a Cause 8: United Way US Veterans Programs
a half hour set at a benefit to raise money for our troops fighting in the middle east. We go on at 8:30 PM Eastern. The show is at the Woodlands Inn & Resort
in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

ON April 30, 2010, we are playing the aftershow part on the first night of the Right of Spring festival, a.k.a. ROSfest. This is at the Eisenhower Hotel & Conference Centerin Gettysburg, PA. One hour set, maybe a little longer, plus the possibility of debuting new material. It's going to be a killer show for us and a whole lot of fun.

ON May 21, 2010, we play at the Starland Ballroom in Sayerville, NJ, opening up for the Outlaws, a southern rock band. this is also going to be an incredible night for us, playing on home soil, so to speak. we encourage you to buy tickets at The days Before tomorrow Web Site in advance. Just click on the link for shows. The tickets are cheaper if you buy them early.

Last but definitely not least, on June 9, 2010 we are playing the Mountaingrown Spotlight -- FM Radio Simulcast -- FREE SHOW at The Woodlands Inn & Resort
in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This will be broadcast on 102.3 the Mountain and I believe on the net as well. Will post links as we get closer.

Of course, Clkass X Radio, a radio station out of Ohio that broadcasts on the net still plays us. Go there and request Lighters or Wrong or After the rain. Do it often, we love the plays.

There are two things we are entered into as well that need votes for us.

Firstly, this link takes you to a mysapce page taking votes for bands to play at summerfest in milwaulkee. Just scroll down the page, look for Days before Tomorrow, select us, put in an email address and that's about it.

And finally, we're entered into the Bonjovi, wanted a superband competition to get to open for Bonjovi. Here's the info for that as well...

Dear Artists,
Fans are writing us, asking how they can vote for their favorite band competing in the "Bon Jovi Wanted: A SuperBAND Tonight!" contest. Here's the 411— feel free to forward the info to your friends and fans.
Fans have the opportunity to judge the "Bon Jovi Wanted: A SuperBAND Tonight!" Channel(s) of their choice in three places: OurStage.com, Bon Jovi's official Facebook page, and Bon Jovi's Web site. To judge on OurStage.com, fans must first create a free OurStage account. Once their account is set up, they can judge the contest by clicking the "Judge" button on the navigation bar at the top of the screen then selecting the "Bon Jovi's Wanted: A SuperBAND Tonight!" Music Channel of their choice. Fans will have the option of judging either "Sort 4" battles or "Head To Head" battles.
For fans using Facebook, go to Facebook.com/BonJovi and click on the "SuperBAND" tab. They will automatically be taken to a landing page that explains the contest. From here they will see two buttons asking whether they want to judge as a "Fan" or join as an "Artist". After clicking "Judge as Fan," fans will be prompted to enter their Facebook login info. Next fans will be asked to accept the "judging application". Once the application is accepted, the fan will be asked to select the region they wish to judge. They will then be redirected to the judging widget, which looks and functions the same as "Sort 4" judging on OurStage.
Fans using www.BonJovi.com must click the "Bon Jovi's Wanted: A SuperBAND Tonight!" link on the web site. Once selected the instructions are the same as the instructions for using Facebook.
Your fans can guarantee that they we see your band in "Judging" by choosing your band as their "favorite", then judging 20 battles. To do so, they can select the green "favorite" button located under the "Fans" tab on your profile. (Let them know that selecting your band, as their favorite band does not count as a vote).
Hope this clears up any confusion you or your fans may have!
OurStage
So, that should cover everything, really from the dBT front. Please support the band whatever way you can, whether it is attending a show or voting for us in these little competitions. Thanks.

Goodbye to Visions

Today, due to time constraints and just a lack of enjoyment, I resigned from Visions and also from my internet radio station at the same time. I am devoting myself fully to Days Before Tomorrow and my own solo stuff and if another project comes along, maybe I'll consider it. I do wish the remaining members of Visions good luck. NO hard feelings, no artistic differences, just not feeling the material and not having fun and that is not fair to the rest of the band.

By the way, concert calendar is updated with more to come with latest DBT gigs.

All kinds of stuff

So, some interesting news coming down the pike, and I am sorry if some of this is old, but I don't remember half of what I put up here sometimes, so consider this arepeat with more info.

Firstly, on the site update front, I had a request to sing Faithfully, as if the version from 2003 that is up here isn't painful enough, so I took the version I did with John Pine, singer extraordinaire from Visions, and replaced his vocals with mine. Don't worry, John, your track is still here. It is the first song in the flash player and in the new section for when you want to make the dogs in your neighborhood beg for mercy. I moved John's version into the Covers section along with the version I did in 2003. You tell me what sounds better, but I think that request is one I should have ignored myself. I am no STeve Perry, but hopefully the person who requested it will learn never to do that again, or maybe somebody here thinks it is good.

ON the band news front...

Visions is having bass player turn over issues. Not sure where that project is going, and will try to keep you posted as things happen. We'll probably play ashow by the end of the year assuming we get a replacement and nobody else quits.

Days bEfore Tomorrow however has some shows coming up. Check the site or just read below. We're playing Concert For a Cause 8, which is abenefit this year to go towards our troops. I believe the date on that is April 22, 2010 in Pennsylvania. Roughly a week after that on April 30, 2010 we have been asked to play the after party on the first night of the Right of Spring Festival, which is a premier prog rock festival on the east coast. This is held in gEttysburg, PA. And on May 21, 2010 at the starland ballroom in sayerville, NJ, we are opening for legendary southern rock band, the Outlaws. Tickets are on sale at the DBT web site, so if you live locally, go buy them and hook us all up.

ON another cool note, I have been asked to audition for a wedding band. This is all still preliminary, but it would be a cool paying gig. Will keep you all informed on how that goes.

There is a blog up here, and the first entry is notes on the recording of my latest original, From Your Angel, which is streamable on the site and in the flash player as well. I promise, one day, all my crappy ballads will be for sale on a CD nobody will buy, but I need to stop writing sappy ballads and move on to something more rocking and maybe angry, who knows, I suppose it depends on who will break my heart this year. Or maybe one day, Rich will give e some lyrics for something. Who knows? But, go read the blog and sign the guestbook or soemthing so I know people actually come here once in a while. Justify my $20 a month, OK?

See you soon.
